  • Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor the Quality Intern partners with various functions of the Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance team assisting the areas food safety documentation, validation & verification.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a capability study on our salt application systems to confirm capability of achieving or improving specification compliance.
    • Works with Supplier Quality Engineer to review inbound salt and spice compliance to moisture, flow ability, and optimal storage.
    • Job shadow various quality roles in plant and corporate.
    • Group intern project work.
      • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
      • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
      • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
      • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.





    • Undergraduate in B.S. in Food Science or Biological Science
    • Experience in a food manufacturing facility
    • Prefer knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP's and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act)

    Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

    • HACCP or PCQI training (not required but a plus)

    Skills and Competencies:
