  • Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the Safety Manager, the Safety Intern works on various projects for the Safety and Operations teams.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Works with Safety Mamager & Coordinator on the improvement of facility issues through daily walks of the facility and coordination of other parties such as maintenenace or sanitation.

    • Performs daily facility walk though of building.
    • Communicates with safety team on all issues that reqire a specialist attention.
    • Assists with both safety trainings and operations issues as needed.
      • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
      • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
      • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas. 
      • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competenices, as well as professional and leadership development.

    Qualifications

    General knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing and safety related with the ability to apply classroom theme or past work experiences to the job at hand.

     

    Education, Experience & Knowledge:

    • In the process of obtaining a mechancial engineering degree or related field.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • MS Office skills required.
    • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment with people outside your department.
    • Desire to think cognitively and work through problems.
    • Excellent organizational/time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills:  written, verbal, and internpersonal.
