  • Overview

    The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work closely with Operation Manager, Production manager and Production floor at our facility in Selma, TX.  The person in this role assists maintenance with design, fabrication and drawings using Auto CAD.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assists with designs, redesigns, or modifies required areas, identify problems and help improve equipment/systems performance and reliability.
    • Learns and become proficient in company operating system software and engineering and Maintenance software programs such as auto CAD and Express Maintenance.
    • Assists with the development of schedules, budgets and projects as assigned.
    • Works with operations, production, managers, and facility staff on engineering needs.
    • Assists with internal projects by supporting maintenance and fabrication shop employees involved in new projects and upgrades.
    • Evaluates production equipment and related systems.
      • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing, and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
      • responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
      • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
      • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

     

    Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering degreed curriculum or related field preferred.
    • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel and management required.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to operate office equipment.
    • Strong problem solving skills,
    • Ability to work in a team environment required.
