    Provides direction and leadership to the managers and staff at our facility in Gustine, CA.  Identify and make recommendations to drive profitability.  Provide direction to scheduling and plant operations to ensure customer demands are fulfilled.  Responsible for hiring and training of  managers.  Maintaining a safe and clean working environment in facility.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide direction and support to facility Managers and Staff.
    • Overseeing operations to make sure our customers’ needs are met.
    • Work with departments(scheduling, quality control, maintenance, purchasing, warehousing, and sanitation) to ensure production schedules are being met and customer demands are being fulfilled.
    • Identify problems throughout our company and recommend solutions.
    • Work with Inventory control to improve our accuracy.
    • Set goals for Managers and provide support to achieve them.
    • Monitor labor costs, head counts, and spending at all facilities.
    • Work with Managers to reduce operational costs.
    • Work with Sales and R&D when developing new products, deciding what productions abilities or limitations maybe.
    • Make specific recommendations to management to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of all facilities operations (equipment utilization).
    • Oversee operations to improve and ensure: safety, good flow of materials, quality control, maintenance, security, and productivity.
    • Train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate staff.
    • Participate in various staff, management, and safety meetings to improve company operations.
    • Review weekly operation notes from facility and make recommendations.
    • Review facility inspections and make recommendations to ensure their success in achieving scores that show continuous improvements.
    • Use problem solving skills and industry experience to troubleshoot operations and human resources problems as they occur.
    • Strategic partner in planning of production processes, flow of work, and scheduling deadlines.
    • Assist in developing and writing SSOP’s.
    • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
    • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
    • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
    • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
    • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.


    Ten plus years of experience in managing production operations in the food industry preferably in the nut or snack food industry.  Strong supervisory experience, excellent planning and hands-on approach to manufacturing and output.  Solid knowledge across functional areas such as: scheduling, distribution, good manufacturing practices, maintenance, workflow planning, safety, and human resources.  Bachelor of Science degree in a business discipline preferred.


    Job Specific Requirements:


    In the event that the Plant Manager is absent, the Senior VP Corporate Operations is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
