  • Overview

    The Procurement Associate  is responsible for supporting the VP of Procurement and Procurement Category Managers in the purchasing process for packaging materials, manufacturing, sanitation, quality and miscellaneous supplies.  This is an entry-level position.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Creates purchase orders in QAD at the direction of the VP of Procurement and/or Procurement Category Managers or other departments. Ensures purchase orders are entered accurately and on a timely basis. Ensures all purchase orders are confirmed with suppliers for price and delivery date.

    • Responsible for ensuring Letters of Guarantee, third party audits, certificates of conformance and other required documentation is maintained for all packaging suppliers.
    • Updates the Master Discontinuation & Transition Document weekly. Looks up inventories, forecasts, and estimated run-out and monetary values in QAD and enters into Excel database.
    • Coordinates and updates Master Scrap Authorization Log as needed. Circulates scrap requests for approval signatures, forward approved Scrap Requests to Inventory Control for destruction, and follows up with parties as necessary. Updates Master Scrap log with confirmations.
    • Maintains Monthly Packaging Inventory Tracking reports and charts in Excel database. Reviews data and scrutinized for accuracy and reasonableness.
    • Provides routine administrative support and work on Special projects and assignments as necessary.
    • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
    • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
    • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
      • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
      • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.





    Education, Experience, & Knowledge:

      • Bachelor's degree in business discipline preferred.
        • Entry-level office data entry skills.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Power-point experience is also helpful.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other internal departments and suppliers in a professional manner.
    • Data entry and purchas order entry skills a must.
