  • Overview

    The inventory control clerk is responsible for ensuring desired inventory accuracy through the distribution and other storage areas.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensures inventory accuracy through the distribution, including cooler storage, film, and label, corrugate and jars, spice storage, and finished goods warehouse.
    • Assist in ensuring that FIFO (First in- First out) is being followed with all commodities stored and finished goods shipped.
    • Generates inventory discrepancy reports, such as U-status and PF7, and addresses any errors found, including research, system's adjustments and employee coaching.
    • Completes all scrap requests, including pulling product, verification, WMS adjustments, documentation and disposition.
    • Completes all samples requests, including pulling product,  reconciliation and delivery to requesting department.
    • Completes inventory counts on non-inventory items, documents the information and communicates with purchasing team on needs and findings.
    • Completes full aisle audits, documents discrepancies and addresses any findings through research, systems reconciliation and employee coaching if necessary.
    • Operates material handling equipment in a safe manner to perform responsibilities, including changing equipment batteries, conducting pre-op inspection, reporting any equipment issues or damages, and proper use and care of hand-held scanning equipment.
    • Makes appropriate recommendations to the distribution supervisor regarding methods to improve inventory accuracy and efficiencies.
    • Understands and adheres to all safety and GMP rules and attends assigned training.
    • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practice, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
    • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
    • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
    • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team across functional areas.
    • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma and equivalent preferred.
    • Two plus years of experience in general warehouse or inventory.
    • Sit-down and stand-up forklift certification required.
    • Cherry picker and pallet rider certification preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and WMS (Warehouse Management System)

    • Good verbal and writing communications skills
    • Ability to read, write and speak English

     

    Job Specific Requirements:

    This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.

    In the event the inventory control clerk is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
