    The human resources generalist performs a variety of Human Resources activities including but not limited to recruitment, safety and health, benefits, administrative support and employee relations at our facility in Selma, TX

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serves as a point of contact for temporary employees, temporary employment agencies and managers needing temporary employees. Tracks and submits all temporary employee time cards weekly and provides reports to agencies.
    • Coordinates requests for new employees with corporate HR of iCIMS posting, interviews schedules and distributes application. Performs I9 verifications. Maintains employee number log and plant openings log in iCIMS. Conducts all new hire orientation and processes paperwork, issues badges and employee numbers. Responsible for ordering uniforms for all new hires and works with uniform company to maintain current uniforms inventory.
    • Conducts employee benefit meetings, answers employee questions relating to benefits and assists updates/changes. Serves a liaison between employees and benefit department at the corporate office.
    • Tracks employees hourly time. Verifies missed punches are corrected as well as employees pay period hours between Kronos and ADP align.
    • Serves as a primary contact for all work place accidents/injuries and workers compensation claims. Assists and follows up with supervisors on accident reports, details and investigations. Reports accidents to workers compensation insurance carrier and maintains workers compensation files. Participates in safety committee.
    • Responsible for employees/supervisor relations, distribution of forms and investigation of complaints.
    • Maintains and updates SQF training records and files.
    • Maintains and updates I-9 documentation files. Follow up on any updates needed.
    • Discuss with supervisors appropriate procedure for annal review of employees, ensuring the proper procedure is followed when completing scorecards.
    • Responsible for administration of facility information technology needs. Serves as a liaison between the IT department to maintain computer system and hand held scanners as needed.
    • Responsible for issuing all ID's and access badges to visitors, contractors, temporary employees and employees.
    • Assists in reception, maintaining visitor sign in sheet ensuring all visitors have read GMP's and notifies office of visitors. Answers phones and route to correct department. Coordinates radio messages to appropriate manager or supervisor.
    • Receives and signs for documents and certified mail and is responsible for outgoing UPS packages and UPS end of day reports.
    • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF and regulatory requirements.
    • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
    • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
    • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
    • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.


    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred, but not required.
    • One to two years of related Human Resources experience.
    • PHR preferred, but not required.
    • Good computer skills working with Word and Excel.
    • Ability to make decisions and work independently.

    Job Specific Requirements:


    In the event that the human resources generalist is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing and equally qualified person to cover this position.
