  • Overview

    Safe operation of roaster, dumping of product, and monitoring product quality.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Roasts product as direct by production scheduling.
    • Directs other employees assigned to roaster area.
    • Sets roasting temperatures and belt speeds for selected nut types.
    • Adjusts roaster as needed.
    • Regulates salt and oil application as needed.
    • Fills in for utility workers as needed.
    • Maintains cleanliness of work area.
    • Trains employees.
    • Observes all plant safety rules, GMP’s, and attends appropriate training.
    • Calibrates equipment where applicable.
    • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
    • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
    • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
    • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
    • Performs other duties as needed.


    One year experience in roasting or production.  Ability to read and understand basic English, basic mathematical skills, and some mechanical ability.  Good manual dexterity, vision, and mobility.



    Job Specific Requirements:


    In the event that the Roaster Operator is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
