Overview

The EDI Specialist creates, maintains, and supports the trading partner community through strong communications and systematic development of pertinent business documents and customer profiles directly related to the EDI application systems and E-Commerce initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Electronic Data interchange (EDI) Specialist provides support for EDI database analysis, operations, and supports data sysnc initiatives with customers.
  • Identifies and resolves issues related to EDI data that prevent documents from being accurately processed from one application system to another (Commerce Suite, Gentra, QAD).
  • Established and maintains data interchange with partners.
  • Performs secruity and compliance verification procedure related to Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Maintain partners data cross-references to support a variety of transactions.
  • Performs system maintenance to jmaintain partner records and documentation.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.

  • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.

  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • College Degree is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Three or more years working in an EDI related field of work, service oriented with emphasis on EDI related responsibilties, or Information Technology.  
  • Working knowledge of Gentran, QAD, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. 

  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are required. 

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload throughout the day.

  • Ablity to work independently as well as in a group. 

Job Specific Requirements:

In the event that the EDI Specialist is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
