The Financial Analyst (Accounting) is a highly motivated person that is responsible for various accounting duties including: preparing complex analyses and related monthly journal entries, various month-end closing duties, circulation of monthly Sarbanes-Oxley survey, and the initial quarterly XBRL review.  

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Analyzes, consolidates, and interprets financial data by assigned area.
  • Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities including preparation of entries for posting to the general ledger.
  • Works with internal departments and external resources to expedite obtaining financial information, primarily related to subjective and complex accounting accruals and ensuring their related expense is complete and accurate.
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of certain balance sheet accounts and investigates and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Performs initial tagging and review of XBRL file which is filed quarterly with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Researches complex accounting issues as assigned, including new accounting rules, and prepare memorandum of appropriate treatment.
  • Manages circulation of internal survey regarding Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls compliance and ensures the results are accurately recorded and disclosed.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
  • Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.





Education, Experience and Knowledge:

 ·   Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting

 ·   Two to three years’ experience, preferably in a national public accounting firm.

 ·   Experience with a publicly traded company is preferred.

 ·   Solid understanding of financial statements necessary.

 ·   Expertise in complex MS Excel spreadsheet analysis (pivot-tables, v-lookup, etc.).

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • CPA preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Thorough understand of U.S. GAAP
  • Position requires the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to research accounting issues and document a well-articulated conclusion referencing relevant accounting literature.
  • Good communication skills, ability to interact with all levels and functions within, as well as outside, the organization.
  • Ability to master the functionality of the general ledger and various related reporting software that is used to analyze account activity.

In the event that the senior financial analyst (Accounting) is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
