Overview

The warehouse lead performs general warehouse and dock operations.  Acts as a back-up to the shipping supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees outbound operations and/or order pulling and put-away ensuring safety, productivity, etc. and ensures trailers are being loaded and offloaded in a timely manner.
  • Helps load/unload, put away product, work order pulling, etc. as needed.
  • Consolidates inventory and creates space for inbound items that need to be stored.
  • Receives all inbound and finished products into QAD.
  • Utilizes dock management software to schedule appointments as well as checking trucks in and out.
  • Works closely with inventory control to ensure all receipts are correct and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ensures documentation complies with procedures and proper document control. Ensures that forms and procedures are up-to-date and filled out correctly.
  • Ensures proper LOT rotation and allergen control, including following FEFO (First expired- First out), FIFE (First in-First expired), FIFO (First in-First Out) and organic product receiving and handling.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF and regulatory requirements.
  • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • Two plus years warehouse experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food operations experience preferred.
  • Material handling equipment certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Problem solving, team building, project execution and ability to multi-task.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds

Job Specific Requirements:

 

This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.

 

In the event that the warehouse lead is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
