The Warehouse Lead performs general distribution and dock operations. Acts as a back-up to the distribution supervisor and, if needed, the wave planner and shipping clerk.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees outbound operations and/or order pulling and put-away ensuring safety, productivity, etc.
Assists when necessary with put-away of finished goods, picking sales orders or distribution transfers and loading of outbound orders.
Assists with dock door assignment and ensures proper flow throughout the day.
Communicates as needed with internal and external customers, including customer solutions team, transportation and other JBSS locations.
Ensures proper documentation as dictated by procedures along with document control, including training of new loaders and/or pickers.
Investigates and researches claims on shortages or other order discrepancies. Follows up with the loading team on any logistical issues and assists with determining corrective action.
Ensures that forms and procedures are up-to-date and filled out correctly.
Ensures proper LOT rotation and allergen control, including FIFO (first in-first out) and organic product handling and shipping processes.
Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
Two plus years warehouse experience required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Material handling equipment certification
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
Ability to read, write and speak English required. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
Problem solving, team building, project execution and ability to multi-task.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
