Forklift Operator I

The Forklift Operator I is qualified to operate electric pallet jacks and/or sit down forklifts.  The person in this position possesses entry level skills to unload/load trucks, performs put away of materials using a sit down forklift.  The Forklift Operator I is also responsible for changing equipment batteries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loads/unloads trucks, verifies receipt to order documentation, sign BOL's, receives into system using WMS scanning equipment, and applies LP's as directed.
  • Inspects trucks and documents inspection.
  • Assists in keeping warehouse clean and organized.  Sweeps, picks up trash, tapes up any open cases and organizes pallets, ect.
  • Rotates inventory and/or adjusts inventory quantities.
  • changes equpment batteries, pre-op inspects equipment, reports equipment deficiencies.
  • Processes UPS and Fisher store orders.
  • Is responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Is responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
  • Is responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
  • Is responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.



  • forklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.
  • Forklift driving license or certification.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic math skills.

Job Specific Requirements:


In the event that the Forklift Driver is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
