Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician I repairs and performs maintenance on various food processing equipment, systems and related controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs processing equipment, systems, and related controls.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Utilizes hand and power tools to facilitate work.
  • Works in fabricating as need.
  • Assists in other building maintenance or repair activities as needed.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
  • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five plus years of experience in repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical components and wiring.
  • Intermediate mechanical skills.


Job Specific Requirements:


This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs. 


In the event that the Maintenance Technician I is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
