Machine Operator I

The Machine Operator I operates and maintains one simple machine or one machine line and ensures it is running efficiently with minimum supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs pre-operational checks.
  • Sets up maching-loading, and monitors to make sure it is running efficiently.
  • Follows work order, quality control and sanitation procedures concerning weights, packs, descriptions, dates UPC's, cleanup and changeover.
  • Performs quality control and material waste checks.
  • Maintains and exceeds production, quality and safety standards.
  • Loads product into hopper.
  • Cleans machine properly after production runs or changeovers.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Is responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Is responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
  • Is responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
  • Is responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.


  • Prior work experience is a plus
  • Level I power equipment license (JBSS)
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Capable of following directions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to speak and read in English.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • Good manual dexterity, vision and mobility.


Job Specific Requirements:


In the event that the Machine Operator I is absent, the Supervisor/Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
